JACKSON, Miss., May 31, 2019 – LEC computer and development engineer, Cory Price was honored this week for his role in helping transform Mississippi's economy and workforce through the introduction and advancement of technology solutions for consumers and businesses.
Price, along with 24 others from various industry sectors, including government, education, health care and telecommunications, was selected by a panel of judges from the Mississippi Business Journal, the state's largest business publication, for the 2019 Top in Tech awards.
This is the third year in a row that LEC, a global leader in providing innovative and groundbreaking industrial automation control engineering and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) enablement platform solutions, has had a team member selected for the award. All 25 of this year's winners were honored during a special reception and breakfast awards program attended by 100 guests at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson.
“I am extremely honored to be included in this group of impressive technology leaders from all over the state,” said Price. "This award belongs to the entire LEC team for their dedication and contributions in helping move industry in Mississippi, and across the United States, forward in technology innovation."
As LEC's lead computer and development engineer, Price is responsible for the design and development of Industrial IoT devices for remote monitoring over wireless mediums. His expertly implemented methods for sensor network data acquisition over cellular radio has helped LEC clients reduce their data usage by 80 percent when compared to traditional methods.
"All of our honorees are dedicated to using technology to improve our quality of life and deliver the products and services that consumers and businesses rely on to drive our state's economy into the future," said Mississippi Business Journal Publisher Alan Turner. "We need more leaders and businesses like these to help us deliver the technology of tomorrow today."
