Liz Densmore, APR, director of marketing and corporate communications at LEC, has earned the prestigious Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
“The APR is a mark of distinction among public relations professionals,” said Rob Pettit, president of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi Central Chapter. “Completing the APR process demonstrates Liz's commitment, leadership and expertise in the public relations field.”
Established in 1964, the Accreditation Program is the profession’s only national post-graduate certification program. It measures a public relations practitioner’s fundamental knowledge of communications theory and its application; establishes advanced capabilities in research, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation; and demonstrates a commitment to professional excellence and ethical conduct. Currently, more than 5,000 professionals from the agency, corporate, association and education fields hold the APR mark. The UAB is comprised of eight national public relations organizations from around the world, including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
“I consider my APR to be the most noteworthy of my professional accomplishments, and one that will benefit the organization I serve for years to come,” Densmore said. “I am grateful for the support of my LEC family and the public relations community throughout Mississippi during this journey.”
Densmore is now eligible to include the official APR endorsement in her title, hold chapter and society board positions exclusive to accredited members, and use her credential to advance her career.
